How to choose a tractor and proper implements

For the new or beginning farmer, one important questions is how you will power your farm jobs? You can farm with a number of power sources, such as 2 wheel hand tractor or with 4 wheel farm tractors, or you can even hire worker  to be done

Often people ask  “What tractor should I buy?”, and “How much does a tractor cost?” As with all things agricultural, the answer is “it depends”. One of the first things  is “What do you want and need to do with a tractor, and, how much can you afford to spend?”

You need to consider your land area and situation, the fund run on it and what tasks are done daily when choosing the right tractor and the right farm implements for your operation.

The following jobs is a list of activities which might be occurring on a farm and requiring specific tractors and farm implements:

1. Brush ,small trees, grass clearing This is one of the most foundation jobs on a small farm, as nature can be relentless in working to restore forests. If fields are let to grow for more than about three years, small trees and brush will begin to take over, and then can be extremely difficult and expensive to correct.

2. Hay cutting and clearing, which might be either small square bales, or large round bales of dry hay or baleage. The implements can be used at this stage would be grass mower,Hay rake and Bailer etc.

3.Tillage activities, such as plowing, harrowing. The implements can be used at stage would be plough, harrow,Rotary tiller etc.

4. Planting crops such as forages, row crops such as corn and cereal grains, fruits and vegetables, The implements can be used at stage would be Maize planter, wheat planter,Vegetable seeder etc.

5. Fertilizer and spraying process. At this stage you may need the Fertilizer spreader and Sprayer.

6.Harvesting crops. you may need Maize harvester, rice harvester etc.

7. Front end loader work for manure handling, feeding animals, moving materials around the farm, Trailer for transport the crops from the farm to the destination.

You do not need all of these implements, but usually the plough, planter is necessary to have with the tractor.
